Treatment & Conditions
Are injection therapies right for everyone?
Will exercises be provided?
Where appropriate, treatment may include exercise-based rehabilitation, movement retraining, and self-management strategies as part of a wider plan.
What to Expect / Safety
What happens in the first appointment?
The first appointment includes a detailed discussion of symptoms, relevant history, goals, and a structured musculoskeletal assessment. The aim is to understand what is happening, explain the findings clearly, and agree on the most appropriate next steps.
Can support be provided with scans and tests?
What should be brought to the appointment?
Any relevant scans, reports, referral letters, or previous treatment notes can be helpful. Comfortable clothing that allows movement assessment is also useful.
How many sessions will be needed?
This depends on the nature of the problem, the patient’s goals, and how symptoms respond over time. Some people need only assessment and clear guidance, while others benefit from a longer period of treatment or rehabilitation.
Appointments
Do I need a referral from my GP?
A GP referral is not always required for an MSK assessment. However, where medical input, imaging, blood tests, or specialist care are appropriate, guidance can be provided on the best next step.
